The benefits of CBD for athletes
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a plant-based, all-natural, anti-inflammatory supplement that is well-suited for the endurance athlete’s therapeutic needs. CBD does this by working in synergy with existing systems within the body to help alleviate inflammation, soreness, loss of mobility, stress, anxiety, and insomnia.
The key benefits of Miraflora CBD for athletes

As CBD products are not yet regulated by the FDA, it is particularly important to be familiar with, and understand, where they come from, how they are made, and how the quality is controlled – otherwise you don’t really know what’s in your gel, dropper or balm.

My experience using Miraflora CBD
Miraflora CBD Recovery Balm
Miraflora’s CBD recovery balm is specifically designed with athletes and people with an active lifestyle in mind. The purpose of recovery balm is to aid recovery in specific parts of your body, whether from training, strains, or other injuries.
I’m a big fan of massage-on recovery balms containing CBD. If I have aching muscles or am recovering from a strain or sprain injury, I find that using this recovery balm really helps to not only encourage me to actively massage the affected area but also the relief that the CBD provides – I have noticed I recover quicker from niggles, aches, and strains if I’m massaging this in morning and evening.
Miraflora’s recovery balm has a really smooth texture and it is not greasy like other CBD balms can be. The ingredients that help provide this texture include shea butter and extra virgin coconut oil. The smell is nice, and not too strong – part-aromatherapy, part-medicinal, on account of it also including lavender, eucalyptus, and menthol essential oils.

Miraflora full-spectrum CBD Tincture
If you have never used a CBD tincture then it’s great to try it as you can really see and taste what you’re consuming (as opposed to a capsule). The Miraflora CBD tincture tastes very natural – kind of like Rescue Remedy. I would describe it as a soft floral taste, not strong or overpowering, so it’s pretty enjoyable to consume. Miraflora recommends holding the liquid under your tongue for 30-60 seconds to aid absorption so it helps that it’s a nice taste!
One ‘serving’ of the Miraflora CBD Tincture is one complete dropper, which contains approximately 50mg of CBD, and they recommend that you start off with half a dropper – so half a serving, or 25mg of CBD if you’re using it for the first time.
The advantages the tincture has over the soft gel capsules discussed below, are that you have the flexibility to adjust your dosage, it is slightly less expensive, and if you enjoy the taste then you’d miss out on that if you chose to take the capsules.

Miraflora CBD soft gel capsules
Miraflora’s CBD soft gel capsules are an easy way to take a CBD supplement and know that you’re consuming a consistent amount each time. They are also great if you don’t enjoy the taste or want something mess-free that you can take with you when traveling.
You should experience the same effect from the Miraflora CBD soft gel capsules as from the CBD tincture.
The capsules are currently sold in either 10mg or 25mg dosages, so one of the 25mg dosages would be equivalent to half a dropper of the CBD tincture – which is what is recommended you start with when you’re first using CBD.
Cost-wise, a bottle of 60 x 25mg (total 1500mg) CBD capsules costs $159. This compares to a 1500mg bottle of CBD tincture which costs $149 – so you’re paying $10 more for the same amount (in mg) of capsules, but have the convenience of them being in a capsule format and there being no taste to them as you just swallow them.
