What you need to know about the Kammok Outpost Hammock Stand
If you’re already familiar with hammock camping, then you already know its benefits and advantages over tent camping, including:
- that weightless sway and coccoon vibe
- the minimalist packing and setup, and
- the joy of sleeping comfortable, even over uneven ground.
However, unless you have a couple of well-placed posts or trees, you may find that you need a hammock stand to get set up properly for the night.
If you’re into car camping or overlanding then the Kammok Outpost is a great sleeping solution – it’s more space and fuel-efficient (not to mention way more affordable) than a roof top car tent, and offers the convenience and enjoyment factor of hammock camping.

Setup and mounting the Outpost requires no tools and can be done by one person in less than a minute.
The crossbars fold out easily (much like a tripod), and the telescoping legs make it easy to set up and collapse.
The legs are independently adjustable, so if you’re parked over uneven ground, it’s not a problem as the stand can be fully adjusted and leveled.
You have the option to mount the Outpost wherever convenient on your vehicle with the included stock mount kit, which is compatible with most crossbars and roof racks with t-slots.
This also makes it a versatile option if you may use it with different vehicles as there’s no issue with roof rack or crossbar compatibility.
Once attached to your vehicle, the ball mount allows you to swing the crossbar so you can position the hammock stand at a range of different angles from the vehicle.

The powder-coated frame is constructed from aluminum and steel, and weighs 22lb (10kg).
At over 12 feet long, the Outpost hammock stand is ideal for taller campers to lay flat in a hammock, plus it has a weight capacity 300 lb (136.1 kg)
It packs down to not much larger than a collapsible camp chair (52 x 6.5 x 6 inches) into its ‘grab and go’ travel bag, which easily fits in the trunk of a small SUV.
