The Baby Shusher ($35)

The Baby Shusher is one of those things you see and wonder if it really works or whether it’s a total gimmick.

Well, every baby is different but I can tell you that for my kid, and many of my friends’ babies, this small, handheld shusher instantly calms them and helps get naptime started, mimicking the whooshing sound of being in the womb that they find so comforting. It’s basically magic, lol.

It can also run off its built-in battery for up to 8 hours, and has the option of cry detection if you’re using it separately from the Nanit Baby Monitor (which also has that feature).

Once you get past the name (it’s ok, the logo on the pack is quite small), it’s easy to understand the many benefits of having a quick, easy kid seat they can face in or out on, plus a fanny-pack sized storage compartment for small personal and kid-related essentials.
