Understanding On Cloud Speed Laces

How To Tighten On Cloud Speed Laces

On Cloud shoes come equipped with elastic laces, often referred to by On as speed laces which are great when they fit right but most people will need to adjust them to get the perfect fit, myself included. These laces are designed to provide a secure fit quickly and effortlessly.

Straight out of the box, these laces might be perfect for medium to large-sized feet, offering a snug fit. However, if your feet are on the slimmer side, you might find them a bit loose. The good news is, adjusting these laces to fit your feet perfectly is very easy.

How To Tighten On Cloud Speed Laces (Step-by-Step Guide)

If these instructions don’t seem to make sense, please watch my video demonstration above and all will become crystal clear.

Step 1: Identify the Knot

Take a look at the top of your On Cloud shoe laces – you’ll notice a small knot. This knot is your starting point for adjusting the tightness of your speed laces.

Step 2: Pull, Fold, and loop underneath

Gently pull on the knot and fold it inward. This step helps in making the laces tighter by locking an extra knot in place. Ensure the knot is secure so that it doesn’t come undone while you’re on the move.

Step 3: Adjust and Even Out

After looping, adjust the laces back to ensure they are evenly snug across your feet. This step is all about making minor tweaks until you achieve the perfect fit. If you need them even tighter, repeat the process on the other end of the laces.

Step 4: Secure the Knot

Finally, make sure the knot is tight and secure. This ensures that your adjustment won’t come undone during high-intensity workouts or runs. A secure knot is essential for maintaining the fit and comfort of your On Cloud shoes.

Testing the Fit

Now that you’ve adjusted the laces, it’s time to test the fit. Walk around, perform a few quick movements to see if the laces hold up. If they still feel a bit loose, you can repeat the process until you find the perfect tightness.

Alternative methods for tightening On Cloud laces

You other alternatives, are to create a knot further down and cut off the loose laces, which is a more destructive method which I tend to avoid, just in case I need the extra length of the laces when wearing thicker socks for example.

You can also switch out the elasticated laces for more traditional laces and go that route if you like.

Why Tight Laces Matter

Having the right fit is crucial, especially if you’re engaging in high-intensity workouts or running. Loose laces can lead to discomfort, blisters, and even injury. By ensuring your speed laces are tight and secure, you’re not only improving comfort but also enhancing performance. Tight laces provide better support and stability, allowing you to move more confidently.

Additional Tips

  • Regular Checks: Periodically check your laces to ensure they remain tight. Elastic laces can stretch over time, so occasional adjustments might be necessary.
