You just don’t get this on a standard mug. The Hydro Flask Coffee Mug inner layer and rim are made from stainless steel so it will keep your hot drinks, hot and also your cold drinks, cold for much longer. Then add the BPA free insulated lid and suddenly you’ll have even longer before your drink gets cold.
The colored plastic outer layer has a soft touch and non-slip finish that makes the mug comfortable and cosy to hold while removing any chance of burning your self. Be careful when you have the lid on as it’s easy to be fooled into thinking the contents of the mug are not hot because the outer layer feels just slightly warm. I say this because if you were to take a big sip, not realising how hot the liquid inside still is, then you could quite easily burn your mouth. Self-explanatory maybe but not when you’re used to drinking out of a ceramic mug. Take caution.

Durable
Being made out of stainless steel and plastic means that the Hydro Flask Coffee Mug is pretty much unbreakable. That’s perfect if you plan to take it on adventures with you or if you’re prone to dropping things. A ceramic mug, on the other hand, would break for sure if you accidentally dropped it.
Slim Stainless Steel Rim and Fill Line Marker
I like the feel of drinking out of the mug and this has to do with the slim stainless steel rim. The coffee seems to taste better, I suppose in the same way that drinking out of a glass bottle tastes better than drinking out of a can.
There’s also a fill line on the inside, so make sure you don’t go over it if you intend to use the insulated lid.

Summary
We both really enjoy drinking our morning coffee out of the Hydro Flask Coffee Mug. Our coffee stays hotter for much longer, we can pop the insulated lid on if we need to take it on the move and the colors are fun! We also like the smooth plastic feel and the fact that the outside of the mug never gets too hot to hold and when the coffee is finished, it’s easy to wash/clean the stainless steel.
