Injinji Running Socks Review: Performance Toe Socks For Trail Running

If you havenโ€™t tried toe socks before then you should! Try everything once, right? These Injinji socks for trail running are engineered for uneven and unpredictable terrain to offer the best fit, feel and protection in any shoe. They’re built with enough cushioning to absorb the impact of dirt paths and rocky trails, while the double elastic cuff keeps dirt and debris out. Read on as I share 3 reasons why I like to trail run with these Performance Trail Midweight toe socks from Injinji.

1. Toe Socks

One of the many great things about toe socks is that having material encapsulating each toe allows the material to wick sweat away from your skin much more efficiently. Without the toe material, your toes warm each other up and will begin to sweat. This sweating combined with toes that can rub against each other skin to skin, can lead to blisters forming. Thereโ€™s a downside to toe socks though, they take a little longer to put on when compared to typical socks, as you need to dress each little toe individually.

I personally believe that it’s worth adding a few extra minutes to your pre-run routine if it means your feet will benefit in the long run. As Benjamin Franklin once said (not to me) “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

When your toes are separated and properly aligned, your entire foot can be properly engaged while running, this should improve performance.

2. The Right Materials in the Right Places

Breathable

The upper of this sock is meshed which provides maximum breathability and ventilation on the top of foot.

Sweat-Wicking

Each toe is wrapped in sweat-wicking material so your feet will stay much drier than traditional socks and hence no blisters!

Protective Cushioning

Injinji have made sure there’s extra cushioning on the entire bottom of these socks to increase comfort when running on hard ground or over long distances.
