Earth Day lands on April 22 of every year and it’s the perfect opportunity for people to share their appreciation for planet Earth – Earth Day 2022 marks 50 years of Earth Day.
This year’s theme is ‘Restore Our Earth‘ so I’m focusing this Earth Day Gifts list on my favorite Climate Neutral Brands and their products that are actually worth buying.
Climate Neutral is an organization that’s dedicated to fighting climate change by helping companies measure, reduce, offset, and label their carbon footprint.
Climate change represents one of the biggest challenges to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable.
What is Earth Day?
Earth Day was a unified response to an environment in crisis — oil spills, smog, rivers so polluted they literally caught fire.
On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans (10% of the U.S. population at the time) took to the streets, college campuses, and hundreds of cities to protest environmental ignorance and demand a new way forward for our planet.
The first Earth Day is credited with launching the modern environmental movement and is now recognized as the planet’s largest civic event.
Thank goodness for organizations and events like Earth Day that give publishers like us the opportunity to share and educate our readers on the great work they do and of course ways in which we can help to support companies that operate sustainably and are climate neutral.
I hope you enjoy these recommended Earth Day gift ideas from the Eco friendly brands we love.
Our Favorite Earth Day Gifts
1. KANE Footwear
Kane has been conscious of its carbon footprint from the outset: Their sugarcane-based BounceBack foam, made from sugarcane ethanol, is a carbon-negative material that holds CO2 sequestered during the sugarcane’s growth process.
Aniger, Kane’s choice manufacturer, was selected for their eco-conscious hydroelectric energy source and careful attention to water usage.
Kane is taking intentional steps to create products that prioritize the health of the planet and the health of your body, with recovery footwear that helps you heal and recover post-workout.
KANE’s Revive recovery shoes also work great for stand-up paddleboarding too because they’re waterproof, breathable, durable, will float, and have grippy tread on the outsole.
Revive recovery shoes make excellent Earth Day Gifts for anyone looking for out-of-this-world comfort underfoot whilst recovering from a long day on their feet.

2. Klean Kanteen Camp Mug 12oz
Klean Kanteen is 100% Carbon Neutral in the manufacture and delivery of its products worldwide, and they give 1% of every sale to help make the world a more sustainable place, donating over $3.4 million to date!
The sustainable brand is also part of the B Corp movement to meet high standards of social and environmental transparency.
Klean Kanteen is having a 25% off site-wide sale with the code ‘Earth25’ right now, until April 24th.
That means that now is a great time to purchase one of their brand new 12oz Camp Mugs, made from 90% recycled steel just in time for campfire season. Get rid of your plastic and swap it for some stainless steel!
3. Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket
In 2019, Rumpl completely redesigned its core line of blankets to use only 100% post-consumer recycled materials. They now recycle over 5 million discarded plastic bottles through their supply chain every year.
They are also a member of 1% For The Planet, which means they donate 1% of all revenue to environmental non-profits, and they are certified as Climate Neutral. In March 2021, Rumpl officially became a certified B Corporation.
The Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket is one of those products that we use ALL the time! Not just on adventures but also on the sofa for a snuggly Netflix session.
The 1-person blanket that we have weighs a mere 1.2 lbs and packs down into the bag it comes with.
Because the blanket weighs so little and packs down so small it’s the perfect companion for any camping, hiking, or backpacking trip.

4. NOCS Binoculars
Nocs Provisions’ goal is to preserve the land and sea that is shared by us all.
They have been a 1% For the Planet member from day one, and Nocs partners with educational and environmental organizations that serve to protect our natural resources and educate the next generation.
Nocs believes that by observing and discovering how intricate and delicate our planet’s ecosystem is, the more it reveals itself – we are inclined to agree with them.
For any outdoorsy people, a good quality pair of binoculars is a great thing to take on a road trip, camping, hiking or backpacking, as they can use them at night for stargazing, as well as during the day to check out the area’s birds and other wildlife.
Binoculars are also a great gift for children and younger campers who are interested in nature and activities such as bird watching.
These Nocs’ Binoculars are waterproof, small, lightweight, rugged, have high-quality optics, and come with a lifetime warranty – while still coming in at a great budget-friendly price point.
While you can get them in black, they come in a range of delightful colors, which is not only a refreshing change from other binocular brands (which usually come in black only), but makes them easier to find in a dark, or a packed backpack when you need them in a hurry!

7. REI [Gift Card]
The outcomes they seek as a business and through their 20 million members are driven by that mindset; they know the positive impacts they have on the outdoors and their community are foundational criteria to every decision they make.
REI operates its facilities on 100% renewable energy, certified all of its distribution centers as zero-waste facilities, and created Product Impact Standards for themselves and the 1000+ brands they sell at their stores and online.
An REI Gift Card is possibly one of the best gifts for outdoorsy people because you won’t have to guess what they would like to receive the most, so it’s a great gift for people who are difficult to buy for, or as a last-minute gift if you’ve run out of time to find something great online or in a store.
They can use it to get themselves a great outdoor gadget, or some new camping, running biking, or climbing gear, for example – and have you to thank for their awesome new gear!
If you’re not familiar with REI, it is somewhat of a mecca for outdoor-loving people who are into their gear.

8. Ombraz Armless Sunglasses
Ombraz plants 20 mangroves for every pair of Ombraz they sell, with the help of their partners at Eden Reforestation Projects. They are also certified by 1% For the Planet, and Climate Neutral.
Ombraz manages to sequester 1383x more carbon than is emitted to produce and deliver each pair. According to Ombraz, this makes each pair of Ombraz armless sunglasses the most carbon-negative product currently available on the market.
Ombraz armless sunglasses are very comfortable and lightweight to wear all day due to their armless construction and design. Instead of arm Ombraz sunglasses use drawcord to fasten themselves onto your face.
They are compact and slim to store in a pocket, stay on your head when moving fast, and are extremely durable – these features make them great for outdoor sports, travel, or any other kind of adventure you can think of.
To learn more about Ombraz armless sunglasses read my in-depth review.
9. Western Rise Clothing
Western Rise‘s mission is to elevate people’s lives through their technical clothing range which errs on the side of clothing you may see in an affluent city rather than in a mountain resort. And this is the line that Western Rise appears to be blurring.
The name ‘Western Rise’ is inspired by the rise of the mountains of the western United States and the early explorers and entrepreneurs who ventured westward toward them.
They strive to create products allowing the modern, active man to own less, carry less, and experience more while traveling, spending time outdoors, or in the day-to-day. That’s my kind of lifestyle right there!
My Western Rise clothing review shares 3 of my favorite items from their range and all the reasons I enjoy wearing them.
10. LifeStraw GO
One of Lifestraw‘s big contributions to sustainability and charity is that for every product sold, a child in need receives access to safe water for an entire year.
They are also a Climate Neutral Certified B Corp and from product to packaging, they measure and minimize their environmental impact. The LifeStraw GO bottle is an advanced water filter bottle that’s ideal for travel, outdoor sports, and emergency situations.
The 22 oz LifeStraw GO protects against bacteria, parasites and microplastics, chlorine and organic chemical matter such as pesticides and herbicides and even improves the taste of water. It’s durable, BPA-free, and has been lab-tested to prove its capabilities.
How does the 2-stage water filter work?
Stage 1: The hollow fiber membrane removes 99.999999% of bacteria (E. coli), 99.999% of parasites (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.), and 99.999% of microplastics.
Stage 2: The activated carbon capsule reduces Chlorine, Bad odor and taste, and organic chemical matter.
The microbiological filter in the center of the bottle gives 5 years of safe water making this bottle the ultimate travel companion that you can fill up with water anywhere without worrying that the filter may stop being effective, at least for 5 years anyway! 🙂
